Outdoor Team Challenges, Adventurous Activities and Incentive Fun Days
BECKs Training offers adventurous and exciting teambuilding outdoor challenges. They are inclusive to everyone and are set up to be accessible to all levels of physical fitness. Get your team together by letting them share an adventure they won't forget in a hurry!
Have a look at a few examples:
Canoeing
After an introductory session on dry land, we take to the water in pairs, mastering the art of canoeing!
Canoeing is an ancient team orientated form of transport - you will get nowhere without your partner pulling his or her weight - quite literally. Communication is key when it comes to turn the boat around, increase your speed or stop.
Enjoy a lovely journey around one of Northumberland's beautiful lakes, a journey down scenic rivers or add a fun factor by letting us build in canoe treasure hunts (picture above), canoe orienteering, canoe racing or canoe ball games.
Mining
What an adventure to gel your team together, underground, exploring ancient caves and mine shafts.

Caving and Mining are activities for the most adventurous of teams, challenging their fear at the very heart: being underground with only a headtorch to light the rockface. Our novice level caves and mines do not require any prior knowledge of this activity ... and what an adventure it is.
Abseiling
Overcome the fear of height, support each member of your team and CELEBRATE your success!

Rock climbing and abseiling, the ultimate proof of trust towards your colleagues. Learn how to belay one another, how to scale a rock face and abseil to the bottom. No prior knowledge of the activity or rope work required, as instructor backs up the system at all times. You can also book abseiling only or rock climbing only.
Gorge Walking and Waterfall Jumping
For the real adventure thrill seekers, have fun with colleagues whilst challenging yourself.
(There is a footpath along the stream for those not wanting or able to get wet or picture takers etc.)

This activity is adrenaline at its best. It combines height, water, remoteness and tight squeezes - and leaves the team utterly reliant on each other's support. Don't underestimate the power of a shared adventure & fears overcome as a team. Everyone will have a story to tell for months to come!
High Ropes
Get kitted up with harnesses and helmets, connected to a rope - ready to face those challenges up high?

We use a number of high ropes courses and high tree challenges in the North East, starting at Beamish, Matfen, High Force and at our own training and conference venue, Deneholme in Allendale. High Ropes provide a fantastic platform for building trust, improving communication and having fun!
Mountain Biking
It is as simple as that: Enjoy a fun ride for all abilities through our beautiful Northumbrian Countryside!

As part of a larger team challenge or purely as a fun day out with your colleagues, cycling is a fabulous way to reduce stress levels, build motivation and friendship in a team - and a heart warming meal and a few pints afterwards are not to be missed.
There are many more activities and outdoor adventures on offer, please contact us for further information. You can also approach us with your own idea and agenda for your ideal adventure challenge event and we will try and accmmodate your ideas and requirements to the best of our ability.
A showcase example:
We at BECKs Training received a phonecall from a large, international company. A team manager wanted his team dropped of at various locations in Northumberland (3 teams of 5), armed only with radios and a map. They then had to make their way to certain "drop" points where the teams would find food, drinks and camping equipment to spend the night in the hills. Finally all teams met at a luxurious hotel for a hot shower and 5 course meal and spent their night together sharing adventure stories from their previous days... After a well earned good night's sleep and full English breakfast the team departed feeling energised and bonded together. They had a fantastic time and the company ever since re-booked the same challenge yearly for a differnt team....
