Activities on offer are:

Canoeing

Test your skills on a flat water open boat session or tackle one of our local rivers. We offer fully catered day trips, incl. packed lunch and BBQ or overnight "mini" expeditions, including stopping in a bunk barn or bothy en route. There is no minimum ability level, so if you have never paddled before - don't worry. We will take you to a venue that suits the abilities of everyone in the group. A minimum group size is 4 and we can cater for up to 14 people. Our favourite routes and venues include the North and South Tyne, the river Wear, Kielder Water, River Allan (only winter months), the Tweed (good three day journey) and many more. All venues are within reasonable travelling distance from Newcastle upon Tyne, Gateshead, Darlington, Durham, Hexham or Edinburgh.

Climbing

Experience adrenaline, adventure and a real sense of achievement: climbing is a fantastic opportunity to combine fun, strengths and team work.

We will introduce you to all relevant rope work and safety techniques; teach you how to belay each other and even how to lead climb (with safety back up rope). Abseiling and bouldering are included in our climbing active day and enjoying a picnic or BBQ at the bottom of Northumberland's or Cumbria's beautiful crags is the perfect finish for an active day out.

Our corporate promise: you will sleep well the night after a day out on the crags.

We can also organise a night out and accommodation to make your climbing day the perfect weekend away for you and your friends.

Caving

Most people have this vision that caving is all about squeezing through long dark passages with arms outstretched moving only by your toes and finger tips.....

Well, it's not! (Though it can be if you want it...)

Caving offers the excitement of exploration and discovery. Caving is all about variety, and a lot of it is doing what adults normally don't do anymore: crawling around, getting wet, climbing up and down wire ladders and simply having fun, enjoying the wonders of Yorkshire's Caves. Great fun and excitment guaranteed!

The closest caves of interest are roughly 2 hours from Newcastle, but BECKs Development Training will provide transport and all equipment needed.
