Mountain Bike Adventure

Our routes have been developed by one of the UK’s leading cycling professionals, Ted Liddle. Ted is the originator of virtually all of the principal long distance cycle routes in the Northern region. Guiding will be provided primarily by Linda and Tony Beck from BECKs Training.

You will stay at Deneholme, and your party will have exclusive use of the building and grounds. Deneholme is a magnificent Edwardian country mansion located on the outskirts of Allendale and set in five acres of woodland gardens. The building sleeps 12 - 30 people in 11 bedrooms. Throughout your stay you’ll enjoy the very best in home-style catering, with a menu based on high quality, locally-sourced and seasonal produce. As part of the package, we’ll also be providing optional evening activities including lectures, briefings and musical entertainment.

Participants will have plenty of opportunity to visit Allendale’s excellent range of pubs and tearooms.e are pleased to offer these outstanding off-road mountain bike adventures, exploring the upland landscapes of the North Pennines – England’s ‘last wilderness’.

Though we’ll do our best to cater for people of differing experience and capabilities, our 6th-10th of August holiday will be mostly family-orientated, with the 13th-16th of August geared up more to the ambitious and capable rider, taking participants on some of the more challenging routes that the North Pennines has to offer. This will include the renowned Cross Fell experience with lunch being taken at Greg’s Hut, where at 3000’ your main company will be the haunting sounds of curlews and black grouse! Our emphasis for both holidays will be on getting you off the beaten track, exploring parts of the North Pennines which have as yet been relatively unseen by the mountain biking community.

All activities will be fully guided by experienced leaders, and you’ll also get to know something of the local area, its wildlife, people, traditions and culture.
